Local area guide;
Between sea and mountains.
Entre Mer et Montagne
We are located in a most unique setting which is just 15 minutes away from many superb sandy beaches and within walking distance into the mountains. The Spanish border is only 5 minutes away which opens up another dimension to this already attractive and diverse area.

One of our nearest beaches at Hendaye.
Our garden has an elevated and an undisturbed view over the local pastures. The rolling country side builds up to a picture perfect view of the Pyrenees who seem to change every day. This view is only added to by the pretty white washed farmhouses dotted on the hillsides. Daily we hear the jingle of the sheeps bells as they run up the hill sides, We see the large birds of prey like the Buzzard, Kites, Vultures and Eagles as they soar on the overhead thermals looking for prey.

Our local town is St Pee Sur Nivelle, which is a traditional Basque village. It has all the amenities of a village, a large supermarket, three boulangeries, local restaurants as well as chemists and a doctor.
We have a local lake just 2 k from the village also known as an inland sea. It is set in the middle of a natural forest and ideal for relaxing, swimming and enjoying a lazy picnic. The lake has a sandy beach and it is surrounded by 12 hectares of natural habitat with pathways for walking.
It takes a short drive and you can be on one of the many beaches along the Cote Basque. St Jean de Luz is the most picturesque and affluent fishing village on the
Atlantic coast.

San Sebastian is an elegant Spanish city and within easy reach. You can wonder along the narrow streets and try the local and prize winning delicacy of Tapas in the many Spanish bars.

We are just 10 minutes from the Spanish border. Here you will find a duty free trading post where you can purchase local Spanish produce at excellent prices and a wide variety of wines and spirits.
